SMPN 1 GIRI

SMP NEGERI 1 GIRI Banyuwangi is one of the big schools in Banyuwangi, East Java. It is located at 103 Jalan Wijaya Kusuma Banyuwangi. It was established in 1981 as SMP Negeri 4 Banyuwangi and became SMP Negeri 1 Giri since 20 May 1985.

It has very strategic location in the western of banyuwangi, with fresh air and surrounded by green rice field. A sport center, GOR Tawang Alun, is not far from the school as wel as a swimming pool where the students can do their sport.

The total number of students is about 832 students with more then 50 teachers and 20 clerks, They are work hard to increase the quality of education. SMP Negeri 1 Giri Banyuwangi will be a RSBI ( The Pioneered International Standart School) in 2010. No wonder that many people in Banyuwangi want their children to study here.

The school has a motto : " Widya Bhakti Criyajana " which mean to dedicate the science and knowledge to gain the happiness of people.
